Bottled water free day

March 11th 2010 marks the first ever Canadian Bottled Water Free day, organised by the Canadian Federation of Students, The Sierra Youth Coalition and The Polaris Institute. The aim of the event is to educate people about the environmental and social impact of the bottled water industry.

Schools and colleges across the country have already responded by banning the sale or provision of bottled water within their organisations. Instead, students and teachers are encourage to use the public drinking water fountains distributed around the campuses.

The day will be celebrated with a series of events and activities to promote the work of the group and increase support and action within the community.
