Treated Like Dirt

When my mother-in-law came out to visit last week, I thought the visit would go really well. I had shopped for all of her favorite things, cleaned the house until it was sparkling, and even planned the entire week with fun events. However, when she got here, she still treated me like dirt. She waited almost two hours before she called the carpet cleaners in Orange County to “fix” my house. Then she said we had absolutely nothing in the house for her to eat, and complained after her nap that our bed was uncomfortable. I was definitely too eager to send her to the airport at the end of the week, but I’m sure she didn’t notice. She got to complain about my driving the whole way there.
