Belize Family Vacation: Go See The Zoo Birds
No Belize family vacation is complete without a trip to see the birds. During the 1980’s, the film industry used a group of local animals to create documentary productions about the animals that live in this area. After filming was over, the animals were cared for in a temporary zoo that has grown into a ‘must see’ tourist stop today. The Belize zoo offers about 125 local animals for the younger family members to see. But, many children find it exciting to see the caged and free roaming birds that gather around this sanctuary. Later, after the zoo trip, the children are excited to see many of these colorful birds in the wild during the morning and late afternoon hours.
